Friday July 18; Training camp workout #1

Comments: After a very long day in the airport, 7 hours to be exact, my teammates and I were finally united. We hustled over to St. Joe's boathouse, to where we arrived an hour late due to traffic. When we arrived, the rest of the boat and coaches were eagerly waiting on the dock. Today we were graced with The Ohio State's Women's Rowing coach. She really knows how the stroke should look and what it should feel like. She was working with each individual on different pieces of the stroke. I was working on pushing from the heels on the bottom of my feet. This required using my lower abdomen to pull the oar in and pinch off the finish of the stroke. Hopefully, this will maximize my leg strength and reduce the amount of oar shaft in the water.
